Marcus A. Sullivan, CVA, CM&AA, MAFF, CEPA

Mr. Sullivan is a seasoned financial executive and advisor specializing in business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation support. He brings more than two decades of experience advising lower and middle-market companies across a diverse range of industries, including healthcare, technology, financial services, insurance, real estate, hospitality, retail, logistics, distribution, professional services, government, academia, and not-for-profit organizations. His work spans the United States, Europe, and Latin America.

He holds multiple professional designations, including Certified Valuation Analyst® (CVA), Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor® (CM&AA), Master Analyst in Financial Forensics® (MAFF) and Certified Exit Planning Advisory® (CEPA). In addition, he has completed executive-level entrepreneurship training at Babson College, was selected for the Venture Accelerator Program at the Guayacán Group, and has served as an adjunct professor teaching Business Administration at both InterAmerican University and Sacred Heart University.

Mr. Sullivan advises business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, boards of directors, and executive teams on a wide range of financial and strategic matters, with a particular focus on valuation and M&A. His experience includes litigation support, capital raising, financial due diligence, FP&A, and exit planning. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than 250 valuation, advisory, and transaction-related engagements.  He has also participated in notable transactions, including the integration of Puerto Rico operations following the Pfizer–Warner Lambert merger and the divestiture of Onosys (a LivingSocial company) to a strategic acquirer.

Prior to founding his firm, Mr. Sullivan served as Director at a boutique M&A advisory firm, where he led valuation, capital raising, and transaction advisory engagements for clients in the technology and hospitality sectors across the U.S. and Europe. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young, providing financial advisory and management consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and not-for-profit organizations, and a Manager at Banco Santander in Spain, where he focused on financing, risk management, and portfolio oversight for small and medium-sized businesses.

Mr. Sullivan is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with working proficiency in Portuguese. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Massachusetts, with a concentration in International Business and a minor in Economics.

Jesus Daniel Mattei, CFA

Mr. Mattei, CFA is an experienced financial professional having occupied diverse roles in asset management, public financing and banking operations.  He was Director of Financing and Debt Restructuring for the Fiscal Agency and Financial Advisory Authority of Puerto Rico (AAFAF), Portfolio Manager at Santander Asset Management, Portfolio Analyst for UBS Asset Management and Trust Account Officer at Banco Popular. 

Mr. Mattei is the Founder and Principal of Rockelis Partners, a consulting firm that specializes in financial services operations, transaction services, expert witness, and litigation support.  Prior to founding his firm, he served as board member for entities that include Puerto Rico Public Building Authority, Puerto Rico Government Employee Retirement, Puerto Rico Teachers Retirement System, and Puerto Rico Judiciary Retirement System.

He was responsible of over 15 mutual funds and separate managed accounts with an aggregate of more than $3.5 billion in assets under management. He also oversaw a $150 million open-ended investment fund structure based in Luxembourg. Daniel has also been junior trader and portfolio analyst for a fund leverage program with over $4 billion in aggregate repo and commercial paper lines.  

In addition, he brings over $25 billion in transactional experience, advising the Government of Puerto Rico on the largest ever municipal debt restructuring in US history. Mr. Mattei participated actively in a broad range of medular matters of the Puerto Rico restructuring, including litigation and mediation strategy, negotiations with creditors, and communications with national credit rating agencies.  He led the initial setup of the financing and debt restructuring operations and led a cross-functional team of employees and consultants during the operational transition following the unwind of the Puerto Rico Government Development Bank.

Mr. Mattei has a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree on Business Administration in finance from the University of Puerto Rico. He is a CFA Charterholder, was approved as FINRA Dispute Resolution Arbitrator, and previously held FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Héctor Rivera, MBA, SA

Mr. Rivera has over 18 years of financial expertise, property valuations, business advisory, economics, feasibility reports, benefit cost analysis, project management, among other specialized financial and economic reporting and consulting. In Puerto Rico consulting has been performed for the public and private sector and authored/co-authored over 200 feasibility studies made for the government and top private companies in Puerto Rico.

Mr. Rivera has experience working in the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency (COR3), Vision to Action, Ponterra Business Advisors and Estudios Técnicos, The Guardian Life Insurance Company, Citigroup and M & T Bank.  He has a double major in Finance (B.S.c) and Economics (B.A.) from Florida State University, MBA from Pace University in New York City, MBA from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, appraisal courses from the University of Puerto Rico and Certified SAFe 4 Agilist (Scaled Agile Framework).

Giovanni Pastrana, SA

Mr. Pastrana has over 10 years of experience in project management, business, financial and data analysis as well as business development and account management. Mr. Pastrana has experience in banking, technology, mergers and acquisitions, healthcare, public sector and wholesale consumer goods distribution verticals in Puerto Rico, Continental US and Eastern Caribbean Island regions.

Mr. Pastrana has worked for Banco Popular of Puerto Rico, Ponterra Business Advisors, Central Office of Recovery, Resiliency and Reconstruction (COR3), Bespoke Capital Markets Group and Puerto Rico Supplies Group.  He has a BBA in Marketing with a Minor in Finance and is a Certified SAFe 4 Agilist (Scaled Agile Framework).
